Václav Havel could see our generation would fail

Václav Havel cautioned me
that poetry should sing
he understood my sinking pot
how the coercion of capital
would lead to a new totalitarianism

a post-adjacent inheritor
of stumps in the grass as we walk
frozen over roads tying seat belts
Cat Clyde runs naked somehow free
perhaps youth of this day are detached
from the gross whole of this breaking sun
the fevered concoction of innumerable guns
do they dare not look at how our generation failed?
