What is it like to write a poem?

It is a defibrillator on an apple
or a swimming suit on a tomato
that cannot swim, nor desires to

It is a community dance
that no one wants to perform in
but we all must shed our inhibitions

We must demonstrate this moment in time
one voice of one’s own time in history
writes for all time’s demarcations
