history is the result of bad leaders and bad religions
tussled and torn towards transcendence and asking
what was love for if not to wear out beneath our feet
fences on the contending horse carriage dockings
like stations that never turned towards me or you
but did, in fact, need us to sing, to bring God to life
like hourglass shovels sinking spring before birth
horseshoes that didn’t match or meet the caretaker
