Survivor’s Guilt and Afternoon Fruit

I can neither confirm or deny your questions
but know this, I can neither confirm or deny
any guess or detraction that you might make
that is the definition of classified
and ordered, partitioned trust

there is a reason
the morning fruit
is more rewarding
later in the day
when all the ramifications
have gone home
away from the war
no more sailors
or photographing journalists
away and carrying the guilt
that I was the one to survive

technically, her companionship
smokes the condensation
off the salutary, recalled walls
she denies it, but I love her
for her holy fellow survivoring efforts
